Your data, on your server

The contacts you collect are sensitive data, so it matters where they are stored and who can access them. Because the solution is self-hosted, all data is on your server, under your control. Here is what that means.

0Why privacy is essential

When you collect a name, email, and phone, you become responsible for that data. If it sits on someone else server, you do not know who can access it. Control over the data is not only a legal duty, but also the trust you owe your contacts.

1Self-hosted means data ownership

The plug-in runs on your own WordPress site, so the cards and all gathered contacts stay in your database. There is no middleman holding your data and no risk that a third party changes the rules or the price of access.

2Consent and a privacy notice

On the contact form you show a privacy notice and ask for consent before anyone leaves their details. That way every visitor knows what you collect and why.

A clear, short privacy notice increases the number of people who leave their details. People trust more when they see you are open.

3GDPR, CCPA, and ZZPL

Since you hold the data yourself and ask for consent, you more easily meet the requirements of rules such as GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California, and ZZPL in Serbia. You decide on storage, access, and deletion.

This is not legal advice. For your specific case, check your obligations with a data protection expert.

4Data deletion and user rights

When someone asks you to delete their data, you do it directly in your own database, because you are the owner. The same goes for exporting data on request. Everything stays in your hands, with no waiting on a third party.
